SUNSET Program Available Now

Sunset in natureContinuing education in end of life care is now available through the newly revised curriculum of the SUNSET Program (Series to Understand, Nurture and Support End of Life Transitions) offered by the Ohio State University Office of Geriatrics and Gerontology. SUNSET is an on-line continuing education program containing 12 modules (two more modules will be released soon) developed to enhance the knowledge and skills of those caring for others or working in a long-term care setting where people are at the most vulnerable points in their lives -- at the end of life. Each SUNSET module is unique, and the content for each covers a specific topic related to end of life care. Participants may complete the modules that best meet their educational needs and interests, receiving a certificate of completion for each module. Continuing education has been approved by:
  • Board of Examiners of  Nursing Home Administrators (BENHA)
  • Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist  Board
  • Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Athletic Trainer Board
Other continuing education approvals will be forthcoming. Travel to SUNSET to register, pay program fees, and complete modules on-line at your convenience. If you have questions about this program, please contact LindaMauger, Program Manager, The Ohio State University Office of Geriatrics and Gerontology, at 614-293-8031 or linda.mauger@osumc.edu. Also, we invite you to visit the web site of the Office of Geriatrics and Gerontology to learn about other aging education opportunities.
